HK Exhibition: Two Newcomers' First Time

14 May
2026

The journey to the Hong Kong Exhibition began the moment we set off.

Our booth was completely empty. We had spent a lot of time thinking about the layout and display beforehand, but things got tricky once we started. Aligning the pegboard took longer than expected, and keeping the posters in place was a real challenge. The booth structure was different from before, and some of our tools didn't work. I walked around to check how other exhibitors did it. Luckily, we brought extra foam tape, and finally got the posters secured. Seeing the booth go from empty to fully set up – that was a really satisfying moment.

Setup done! It took some extra effort, but we were genuinely happy with the result. Where to place each product, where to put the posters, how the lighting works – you only realize how important these details are when you do it yourself.

We expected huge crowds, but the aisles were almost empty on the first morning. Honestly, we felt a bit nervous. Then we realized – foot traffic really picked up around noon and in the afternoon. Lesson learned: next time, we can use the morning hours more calmly for preparation.

The best part of our booth this time was the wristband display idea. Many visitors stopped by – they touched the samples, got curious, and conversations started naturally. This is a back view of my colleague talking to a customer. It feels real when someone is genuinely interested in what you're showing.

The Hong Kong exhibition is not just a product battle – it's also a physical one. Our only ways to get around were the MTR and our own feet. Even with the subway, you still walk long distances inside the stations. The biggest takeaway after two days: keeping your energy up is an essential part of the job.

Participating in this exhibition was an excellent opportunity to learn and grow. It not only showcased a wide range of popular products but also provided a platform to connect with peers and industry professionals. As newcomers to foreign trade, this was a valuable experience for us.

The exhibition brought together the most in-demand products from global markets. Getting to see other companies' products up close gave us a clearer understanding of current industry trends and a better sense of our own product positioning. At the same time, the Hong Kong exhibition – as an international trade platform – allowed us to have face-to-face conversations with both local and overseas peers and potential customers. Through these interactions, we picked up practical sales techniques, industry insights, and first-hand customer feedback.

This exhibition gave us a much more concrete understanding of the industry. It also provided valuable experience for future customer follow-ups, product knowledge, and business development – laying a solid foundation for our work ahead.

Watch products carefully, take notes seriously, and don't forget to check out the Halloween haunted house next door. It all counts as learning.
